What explains this scriptural silence?
Mark Hitchcock, contributing editor to the Left Behind Prophecy Club, outlines four possible explanations on why America is not specifically referred to in prophecy.
Possibility 1...
America will still be a powerful nation in the last days, but the Lord simply chose not to mention her specifically.
This is possible, but it seems unlikely. In Scripture, the dominant political and military power in the end times is centered in the Mediterranean and in Europe. This scriptural silence concerning America seems to indicate that by the time the tribulation period arrives, America will no longer be a major influence in the world.
Possibility 2...
America is not mentioned specifically in Scripture because she will be destroyed by other nations. She will suffer a fall from the outside.
Those who hold this theory are quick to point to the notion that America will be crippled by a nuclear attack. However, in recent days the terrorist attacks on our nation have led some to conclude that our own freedom and technology will be the Achilles' heel that brings us down.
Possibility 3...
America is not mentioned in Bible Prophecy because she will have lost her influence as result of moral and spiritual deterioration. She will suffer a fall from the inside.
As you can imagine, this is a very popular view today in light of the moral malaise we see all around us. Proponents of this view have no trouble citing alarming statistics related to drug use, alcoholism, homosexuality, children born out of wedlock, divorce, pornography, abortion and on and on.
Possibility 4...
America is not mentioned in Bible Prophecy because she is brought to her knees by the rapture.
If the rapture were to happen today and all the true believers in Jesus Christ were whisked away to heaven in a blink of an eye, America would be devastated. It is estimated that America will lose somewhere between 25 and 65 million citizens: Christians and their small children. Not only would the country lose a minimum of 10% of her population, but she would also lose the very best, the "salt and light" of this great land (see Matthew 5:13-14).
I've heard so many arguments on this subject. The most popular used to be, "America is way to powerful for anyone one to attack." With a huge military and smart weaponry, America had become invincible. That's all changed. We've seen how easy it is to attack America, when it's done from the inside. We've seen what just a few men with no regard for their own lives can do.
A conventional war would be next to useless against America. Imagine a nation trying another Pearl Harbor style attack. There's really no way. The way is, modern terrorist armed with nukes.
So what if it is God's will for them to succeed?
Obadiah 1:3-4 The pride of thine heart hath deceived thee, though that dwellest in the cleft of the rock, whose habitation is high; that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground? Though thou exalt thyself as the eagle, and though thou set thy nest among the stars, thence will I bring thee down, saith the LORD.
"exalt thyself as an eagle"... which nation hales the bald eagle as their national symbol? That seems to be a direct reference to America. (exalt means - glorify, high, lofty, arrogant)
"set thy nest among the stars"
What was said as the first astronauts landed on the moon? "The eagle has landed."
Could this really be a hint of what is to come? Could be.
There are many who believe America is figuratively related to the prophecies aimed toward Babylon and others that believe America is sucked into the revived Roman Empire therefore not mentioned as a lone super power.
It may be a little of both. Sucked into the New World Government then destroyed.
There are some things that point eerily at America. Twice he was not referring to the original Babylonian Empire.
Jeremiah 51:33 For thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; The daughter of Babylon is like a threshing floor, it is time to thresh her: yet a little while, and the time of her harvest shall come. Daughter there meaning , descendant. Jeremiah is referring to descendants-( could it be figuratively speaking of their ways?)
There are specific details mentioned in this book that again seem to point directly at America. Jeremiah 50:37 all the mingled people that are in the midst of her. America has the most mingled people of any nation in the world.
Jeremiah 51:13 O thou that dwellest upon many waters, abundant in treasures, thine end is come, and the measure of thy covetousness. It used to be the water that made America safe. Now, it's no defense at all. These two verses alone describe what could be America. No other nation in the world even closely resembles these descriptions.
So what happens?
Jeremiah 50:24 I have laid a snare for thee, and thou art also taken, O Babylon, and thou wast not aware: thou art found, and also caught, because thou has striven against the LORD.
Jeremiah 50:14-15 Put yourselves in array against Babylon round about: all ye that bend the bow, shoot at her, spare no arrows: for she hath sinned against the LORD. Shout against her round about: she hath given her hand: her foundations are fallen, her walls are thrown down: for it is the vengeance of the LORD: take vengeance upon her; as she hath done, do unto her.
In Jeremiah's day the bow and arrow was a show of force as comparable to our day.
Jeremiah 50:29 Call together the archers against Babylon: all ye that bend the bow, camp against it round about; let none thereof escape: recompense her according to her work; according to all that she hath done, do unto her for she hath been proud against the LORD, against the Holy One of Israel.
So who are these that bend the bow?
Jer.50:41-42 Behold, a people shall come from the north, and a great nation, and many kings shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth. They shall hold the bow and the lance: they are cruel, and will not show mercy: their voice shall roar like the sea, and they shall ride upon horses, every one put in array, like a man to the battle, against thee, O daughter of Babylon. Again , it's not the original empire. 43 The king of Babylon hath heard the report of them, and his hands waxed feeble: anguish took hold of him, and pangs as of a women in travail.
President Vladimir Putin, under pressure from the old hardliners, is through sitting on the sidelines of power. He has evidently decided to throw Russia's future on the side of the Muslim world. Russia's alliance with and arming of Iran and Syria is a portent of greater expansion in the Muslim world. Russia still has some of the most advanced and deadliest weapons in the world.
Russian defector, Col. Stanislav Lunev says, "plan to dupe America is working". The highest ranking military intelligence officer ever to have defected from Russia. He did so in 1992 after the Soviet Union dissolved and Boris Yeltsin had come to power. He reveals why Russia is more dangerous than ever.
"Russia plans to bring suitcase nuclear bombs into America and to use special forces to assassinate the president and congressional, military and other leaders during the initial phases of a war. Russian military leaders still view a war with the United States as "inevitable" and that the Cold War never really ended."
There are those who say Russia is not a threat and any suggestion that it is has to be written off as just paranoia. It's rather simple. Russia is continuing its old ways. The military is still preparing for war against the United States. A nuclear war. In the era of cozy feelings between the United States and Russia".
Russia appears to further disintegrate as the days go by. Can they really be a threat?
Well, better think again. Russia still retains a formidable military-industrial complex.
It is one of the world's largest arms exporters. They make quality products and deliver them on time.
Russia continues to build nuclear submarines, bombers and missiles.
In 1998 Yeltsin commissioned Peter the Great, the largest ballistic missile cruiser ever built by mankind.
Russia also deployed a regiment of 10 Topol-M intercontinental ballistic missiles, missiles reportedly more sophisticated than anything America has.
Not long ago, Russia unveiled their stealth bomber.
The New York Times reports, Russia continues to build huge underground bunkers, some as large as cities, in case of war.
They also continue to build an arsenal of chemical and biological weapons.
Russia's nuclear arsenal remains the world's largest and they continue testing of their nuclear weapons.
Such facts demonstrate that Russia is not to be dismissed.
All of Russia's military educational process and training is connected to the actual fulfillment of military plans in time of a nuclear war. The Soviet plan is the use of strategic forces to destroy strategic targets in America and the West, followed by the use of nuclear and conventional forces. This is the Soviet way. They are much more dangerous now because the Russian military is relying more on their nuclear weapons. The upcoming attack on America does not include use of missiles first. First the Russians would use their special operation forces, special troops, inside of the United States to destroy targets like communications facilities, airfields, command centers, and other targets that might be difficult to destroy with a missile attack.
Jeremiah 51:30-32 The mighty men of Babylon have forborne to fight, they have remained in their holds: their might hath failed; they became as women: they have burned her dwelling places; her bars are broken. One post shall run to meet another, and one messenger to meet another, to show the king of Babylon that his city is taken at one end. And that the passages are stopped, and the reeds they have burned with fire, and the men of war are affrightened.
We see the might of the army has failed. What is the might of an army?
How technologically advanced they are? Smart weapons, satellites, computers, all requiring power to run. Notice the messengers are running to pass information. This tells us communications are down. The men of war are frightened because they can't see the on coming attacks without their might.
What could possibly snatch away the ability for America to communicate, see, or even fight? Something like this could do it. Congress examines EMP threat
or something like this.....
Suitcase nukes at strategic locations are just one small part of their arsenal. Russian spies inside the United States are to look for locations to hook up these suitcase nukes to electric power sources, but it's not completely necessary to have an electric power source because the devices can work on a car battery, just not for very long. It is possible that these bombs are already inside the United States waiting for the signal to be set off? How soon could all this take place you may ask? Al-Qaida nukes already in the U.S.
China also is moving closer to Russia. China has the largest conventional army in the world. If China and Russia would ally in a war against the United States, with Russia providing the strategic weapons and China the troops, they could begin the war tomorrow. Recent press reports state that the Russians have been helping the Chinese develop ballistic missile technology and with the recent thefts of American technology, China has become a major threat also.

The American military is downsizing because there is no Warsaw Pact. America has scattered it's remaining defenses around the globe. European countries like Britain and France have small nuclear arsenals. If the U.S. does not exist, Russia rules the world, because after an attack, they would still have a huge nuclear arsenal.
Basically the Cold War isn't over. The Russian military believes inevitably that there will be a war with the United States. In April of 1998, Russia used its strategic bombers in an exercise against the United States. These exercises were organized for the future war against America. Before that, there were several nuclear exercises, ground forces exercises, and airborne force exercises. All of these exercises are being conducted for a reason, for the future war against America.

I remember as a kid, seeing the yellow fallout shelter signs in different locations. I can't even remember the last time I've seen one of these signs.
Do you know where to go or what to do in the event of a terrorist dirty
bomb attack or say an accidental Russian launch by an outdated computer
system? I personally don't know of any. I found one!
Check this out. So basically there is no active shelter system in the U.S.
anymore! I guess Americans in harms way,
will just jump in their
cars and try to drive away from the threat...... No doubt about it,
America is unprepared for a 'likely' nuke attack. (Jeremiah 50:30 Therefore shall her young men fall in the streets, and all
her men of war shall be cut off in that day, saith the LORD. (Jer. 50:46 At
the noise of the taking of Babylon the earth is moved, a cry is heard among
the nations. (Jer. 51:53 Though Babylon should mount up to heaven, and though she should
fortify the height of her strength, yet from me shall spoilers come unto
her, saith the LORD.
(Jer. 51:55-56 Because the LORD hath spoiled Babylon,
and destroyed out of her the great voice; when her waves do roar like great
waters, a noise of their voice is uttered: Because the spoiler has come upon
her, upon Babylon, and her mighty men are taken, every one of their
bows is broken: for the LORD GOD of recompenses shall surely requite.
Here's something I ran up on recently that I thought
was pretty interesting and a little bit spooky. It's a Vision
received by Evangelist A.A. Allen on July 4, 1954
concerning America. Read it here. It's really hard to imagine
all this befalling America, but this nation has definitely taken a
turn from it's first love. America has become a lover of pleasure more than
a lovers of God. America has recently placed
itself in a terrible position of pushing a deal to divide the Holy City of
Jerusalem, more or less setting itself at odds with God Almighty.

Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23And
changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to
corruptible man, and to birds, and four footed beasts, and creeping things. 24Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their

Ready to suck up the whole world. There's already a lot of talk surrounding
a North American Super-State. The borders will vanish along with

storm, an incurable sickness or some global body spewing orders that are

turn for the worse, and these things will only continue to accelerate as
time passes. With all this uncertainty do you see the need for Jesus? He's
